Thomas Chr. Kataras is an Obstetrician – Gynecologist specializing in Fetal Medicine and the management of high-risk pregnancies. He was born in August 1980. He was admitted through the national examination system to the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in 1999, from which he graduated in 2006.
Subsequently, after completing the required training in General Surgery, he began his specialization in Obstetrics – Gynecology, which he completed at the “Alexandra” University Hospital. Following relevant examinations, he successfully obtained the title of Obstetrician – Gynecologist in 2017.
During 2012-2014, he specialized at one of the largest centers worldwide, the “Harris Birthright Research Centre for Fetal Medicine” at King’s College Hospital in London, as well as at Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent. These hospitals are benchmarks in the advancements of Obstetrics – Gynecology, where he trained alongside world-renowned Professor Kypros Nicolaides.
During his training, he gained experience in managing high-risk pregnancies, such as multiple pregnancies, congenital fetal anomalies, fetal growth restriction, congenital fetal infections, and Rhesus sensitization.
